Fleet-Full (1)Tilghman Island’s people and its waterways have always been tightly coupled.  The Harrison House Marina – where a multitude of boats take to the early morning water for the catch of the day.  Chartering guests who get to experience the best views of the Chesapeake and a bountiful catch on the bay is what Harrison House is all about.  And you can do all the leaving from our own private marina right outside the Harrison House Country inn.

Harrison House also provides a unique and historical view into the history of the Chesapeake SkipJack-4through our exclusive skipjack sailing charters that pick up guests from our docks on a daily basis. Your tour is a comprehensive “ecotour” of the Chesapeake Bay watershed, and two-hour tours launch throughout the day. Your knowledgeable and experienced crew will point out the unique flora and wildlife of the Bay, which you’ll see up-close from the deck of this authentic 19th-century sailing ship. You’ll learn about the history of the skipjacks, and how they ruled the Bay for over one hundred years, driving commerce, fueling growth and providing a future for families throughout the entire Chesapeake estuary. Harrison House skipjack tours are perfect for families, too. You’ll sail-dredge for oysters, and even have the opportunity to sail the ship yourself!

Regardless of whether you’re a couple, a family, or a group of friends – your day can be complete by spending your time at the Harrison House marina.  In the marina Boat_at_dark (1)you’ll be able to enjoy eating at the Blue Crab Deck – the only “on the water” eating experience on the island.  Or come in and visit our Chesapeake House Restaurant for a mouth watering seafood buffet or complete meal.  You can even roast some smores over the huge campfire right at bayside.
For a day packed with history, the beauty of the Chesapeake Bay, and the experience of real-life watermen on the Chesapeake Bay, nothing compares to the Harrison House marina.
