6204 Tilghman Island Rd, Sherwood, MD 21665

Directions

This is the park you will see on your Right just before the drawbridge to Tilghman Island. This great, little park offers a gazebo,  fitness equipment, a playground, short, paved walking trail and an observation deck overlooking Back Creek, Tarr Island and the always stunning Chesapeake Bay.

Bring a blanket to lay in the grass while you grill on the charcoal grills located all around the park.

This park is dog friendly but does require them to be leashed.

Dogwood Harbor Boat Ramp

Dogwood Harbor Rd, Tilghman, MD 21671

Directions

There is a Talbot County public boat ramp on the island located conveniently close to the Choptank River and the Chesapeake Bay by way of Knapps Narrows.

The ramp can handle boats up to 26′.

Use of the ramp requires a Talbot County Ramp Permit which is available at Fairbanks Tackle on your Right immediately after the drawbridge.

The channel leaving the harbor is narrow and curvy. You should plan your route on a chart or plotter prior to leaving the ramp.

Also, the trailer parking area can fill up during the busy season so launch early or have someone to park the vehicle and trailer elsewhere.

Have fun and practice safe boating!

Black Walnut Cove Landing

Directions

There is only parking for a few cars down there but hey..there isn’t a lot of traffic here on Tilghman Island.

Launch you kayak, crab or fish from this small public pier.

This pier is located in a small and close-knit community so please be respectful and give our local residents their privacy.

Black Walnut Point Fishing Area & Parking

Black Walnut Point Road Tilghman Island, MD 21671

Directions

The fishing area commonly referred to as “The Rocks” is located at Black Walnut Point just before the Navy tower and the Black Walnut Point Inn. There is plenty of waterfront parking here and access to a shoreline comprised of large granite armor stone or rip-rap. People often bring their fishing gear and try to catch their dinner from the rocks. Others just sit in their car or on the rocks and enjoy a picnic lunch. Either way it’s a great spot to relax and stare out at the beautiful Chesapeake Bay.
